Welcome to Tomes in Tokyo!

Hello and salutations, fellow book lover! My name is Katherine (with a K – none of this "C" stuff). I am a part-time book blogger, and a full-time super mom. My motherly superpowers include getting my rambunctious one-year-old to fall asleep for his dreaded afternoon nap, binge watching Downton Abbey on Netflix in record time, and reading books in between snack time and the occasional tantrum (am I talking about my son here, or about myself? I'll let you decide).

Books have been my best friends since the 4th Grade, when no one would sit with me during lunchtime. That's when I learned I wasn't really alone – I was eating my ham sandwich with Harry Potter. I was drinking my Capri Sun alongside Junie B. Jones. I had all the friends in the world, right there within the pages of my book.

Since this magical discovery, I've never stopped reading. It's become an addiction, a need, something that I just do without thinking, like breathing. The smell of books and visits to the library keep me sane as I bumble through this crazy thing called life.

"There is no friend as loyal as a book" ~Ernest Hemingway
